Restoring the Bride of Messiah

The Mikveh with The Set-apart Spirit

Yohanan The Immerser Preached It

Matthew 3:11 “I indeed immerse you in water unto repentance, but He who is coming after me is mightier than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to bear. He shall immerse you in the Set-apart Spirit and fire.”

John 1:30-34 “This is He of whom I said, ‘After me comes a Man who has become before me, for He was before me.’ And I did not know Him, but that He might be revealed to Yisra’ĕl, therefore I came immersing in water.” And Yoḥanan bore witness, saying, “I have seen the Spirit coming down from heaven like a dove and remain on Him. And I did not know Him, but He who sent me to immerse in water said to me, ‘Upon whom you see the Spirit coming down and remaining on Him, this is He who immerses in the Set-apart Spirit.’ And I have seen and have witnessed that this is the Son of Elohim.”

Mark 1:8 I “I indeed did immerse you in water, but He shall immerse you in the Set-apart Spirit.”

Luke 3:16 Yoḥanan answered, saying to them all, “I indeed immerse you in water, but One mightier than I is coming, whose sandal straps I am not worthy to loosen. He shall immerse you in the Set-apart Spirit and fire.

This doctrine was revealed to Yoḥanan the Immerser by Yahuwah the Father. Yoḥanan the Immerser was a true prophet of Elohim and of greater authority and acceptance than all the prophets before him.

Matthew 21:26 “But if we say, ‘From men,’ we fear the crowd, for all hold Yoḥanan as a prophet.”

Matthew 11:9-11 “But what did you go out to see? A prophet? Yea, I say to you, and more than a prophet. For this is he of whom it was written, ‘See, I send My messenger before Your face, who shall prepare Your way before You.’ Truly, I say to you, among those born of women there has not risen one greater than Yoḥanan the Immerser, yet the least one in the reign of the heavens is greater than he.”

Elohim called this experience the Immersion with the Set-apart Spirit. Yoḥanan the Immerser, Matthew, Mark, Luke and John the Beloved all called this experience by the same name – Immersion (Mikveh) with the Set-apart Spirit.

Yahushua Preached and Promised It

John 7:37-39 And on the last day, the great day of the festival, יהושע stood and cried out, saying, “If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me, and let him who believes in Me drink. As the Scripture said, out of His innermost shall flow rivers of living water.” And this He said concerning the Spirit, which those believing in Him were about to receive, for the Set-apart Spirit was not yet given, because יהושע was not yet esteemed.

Luke 24:49 “And see, I am sending the Promise of My Father upon you, but you are to remain in the city of Yerushalayim until you are clothed with power from on high.”

Acts 1:4-8 And meeting with them, He commanded them not to leave Yerushalayim, but to wait for the Promise of the Father, “which you have heard from Me – because Yoḥanan truly immersed in water, but you shall be immersed in the Set-apart Spirit not many days from now.” So when they had come together, they asked Him, saying, “Master, would You at this time restore the reign to Yisra’ĕl?” And He said to them, “It is not for you to know times or seasons which the Father has put in His own authority. But you shall receive power when the Set-apart Spirit has come upon you, and you shall be My witnesses in Yerushalayim, and in all Yehuḏah and Shomeron, and to the end of the earth.”

Yahushua Messiah the Teacher called this experience the Immersion with the Set-apart Spirit. Believers believe Messiah. Unbelievers prefer their own words and ways to those of Messiah. Messiah taught with great authority and annointing from above.

Matthew 7:28-29 And it came to be, when יהושע had ended these words, that the people were astonished at His teaching, for He was teaching them as one possessing authority, and not as the scribes.

John 7:16-17 (Yahushua) answered them and said, “My teaching is not Mine, but His who sent Me. “If anyone desires to do His desire, he shall know concerning the teaching, whether it is from Elohim, or whether I speak from Myself.

John 7:45-46 The officers therefore came to the chief priests and Pharisees. And they said to them, “Why did you not bring Him?” officers answered, “Never has any man spoken like this Man!”

John 8:28 So יהושע said to them, “When you lift up the Son of Aḏam, then you shall know that I am He, and that I do none at all of Myself, but as My Father taught Me, these words I speak.

John 12:49-50 “Because I spoke not from Myself, but the Father who sent Me has given Me a command, what I should say and what I should speak. And I know that His command is everlasting life. Therefore, whatever I speak, as the Father has said to Me, so I speak.”

John 3:1-2 And there was a man of the Pharisees, Naḵdimon was his name, a ruler of the Yehuḏim. This one came to יהושע by night and said to Him, “Rabbi, we know that You are a teacher come from Elohim, for no one is able to do these signs You do if Elohim is not with him.”

The Mikveh with the Set-apart Spirit is for POWER, the power to do the ministry to which you have been called. Messiah told us that "greater works than I have done shall you do." We are empowered to do those things by the Set-apart Spirit. These include the laying on of hands for healing, the casting out of evil spirits and the many things that Messiah did while on this earth.

Joh 14:12 “Truly, truly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he shall do also. And greater works than these he shall do, because I go to My Father.

WHAT THE MIKVEH WITH THE SET-APART SPIRIT IS NOT

It is not the New Birth, Salvation, Conversion or Regeneration

John 7:37-39 And on the last day, the great day of the festival, יהושע stood and cried out, saying, “If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me, and let him who believes in Me drink. As the Scripture said, out of His innermost shall flow rivers of living water.” And this He said concerning the Spirit, which those believing in Him were about to receive, for the Set-apart Spirit was not yet given, because יהושע was not yet esteemed.

John 14:16-17 “And I shall ask the Father, and He shall give you another Helper, to stay with you forever – the Spirit of the Truth, whom the world is unable to receive, because it does not see Him or know Him. But you know Him, for He stays with you and shall be in you.

The disciples were “not of this world”, they had “believed” on Messiah, had “kept the Word” of Messiah and their “names were written in Heaven”. Yet, they had not been mikveh’d with the Set-apart Spirit, for they were commanded to ”stay in the city (Jerusalem) until you have been clothed with power from on high”. They were to remain in the world to do the work of the gospel, but they needed the Mikveh of the Set-apart Spirit, soon to be sent to them.

John 17:6-9 “I have revealed Your Name to the men whom You gave Me out of the world. They were Yours, and You gave them to Me, and they have guarded Your Word. Now they have come to know that all You gave to Me, is from You. The Words which You gave to Me, I have given to them. And they have received them, and have truly known that I came forth from You, and they believed that You sent Me. I pray for them. I do not pray for the world but for those whom You have given Me, for they are Yours.

John 17:14-16 “I have given them Your Word, and the world hated them because they are not of the world, as I am not of the world. I do not pray that You should take them out of the world, but that You keep them from the wicked one. They are not of the world, as I am not of the world.”

Luke 24:49 “And see, I am sending the Promise of My Father upon you, but you are to remain in the city of Yerushalayim until you are clothed with power from on high.”

It is Not Sanctification

John 17:17 "Sanctify them by the truth; your word is truth."

John 17:21-23 “so that they all might be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You, so that they too might be one in Us, so that the world might believe that You have sent Me. And the esteem which You gave Me I have given them, so that they might be one as We are one, I in them, and You in Me, so that they might be perfected into one, so that the world knows that You have sent Me, and have loved them as You have loved Me.”

Act 26:18 to open their eyes, to turn them from darkness to light,1 and the authority of Satan to Elohim, in order for them to receive forgiveness of sins and an inheritance among those who are set-apart (sanctified) by belief in Me.’

John 17:19 And for their sakes I sanctify myself, that they also might be sanctified through the truth. .

Sanctification is an ongoing process. Messiah prayed for the sanctification of his disciples and yet commanded them to wait for the enduement of power, the Mikveh of the Set-apart Spirit. Moreover, sanctification is for purity, whereas the Mikveh with the Holy Spirit is for power.

The Webster’s Dictionary, Century Dictionary, Imperial Dictionary, Worcester’s Dictionary, Universal Dictionary, American Encyclopedic Dictionary, Standard Dictionary, American Encyclopedia and Advanced Learners Dictionary all give the meaning of the word ‘sanctify’ as:

1. To make sacred or holy, to make free from sin, to cleanse from moral corruption and pollution, to purify, purity from sin, or to free from the power of sin and

2. To set apart to a religious or sacred use, to consecrate or dedicate.

RECEIVING THE MIKVEH OFTHE SET-APART SPIRIT

The Promised “Power From On High

Luke 24:49 “And see, I am sending the Promise of My Father upon you, but you are to remain in the city of Yerushalayim until you are clothed with power from on high.”

Acts 1:8 “But you shall receive power when the Set-apart Spirit has come upon you, and you shall be My witnesses in Yerushalayim, and in all Yehuḏah and Shomeron, and to the end of the earth.”

He is our Teacher and Guide

John 14:26
“But the Helper, the Set-apart Spirit, whom the Father shall send in My Name, He shall teach you all, and remind you of all that I said to you.

John 16:13-14 “But when He comes, the Spirit of the Truth, He shall guide you into all the truth. For He shall not speak from Himself, but whatever He hears He shall speak, and He shall announce to you what is to come. He shall esteem Me, for He shall take of what is Mine and announce it to you.

The Mikveh with the Set-apart Spirit received through the laying on of hands

Acts 19:1-6 And it came to be, while Apollos was at Corinth, that Sha’ul, having passed through the upper parts, came to Ephesos. And having found some taught ones, he said to them, “Did you receive the Set-apart Spirit when you believed?” And they said to him, “No, we have not even heard that there is a Set-apart Spirit.” And he said to them, “Into what then were you immersed?” And they said, “Into Yoḥanan’s immersion.” And Sha’ul said, “Yoḥanan indeed immersed with an immersion of repentance, saying to the people that they should believe in the One who is coming after him, that is, in Messiah יהושע.” And when they heard this, they were immersed in the Name of the Master יהושע. And when Sha’ul had laid hands on them, the Set-apart Spirit came upon them, and they were speaking in tongues and prophesying.

The Mikveh of the Set-apart Spirit received through the sovereign act of Yahuwah

Acts 10:44-47 While Kĕpha was still speaking these words, the Set-apart Spirit fell upon all those hearing the word. And those of the circumcision who believed were astonished, as many as came with Kĕpha, because the gift of the Set-apart Spirit had been poured out on the gentiles also, for they were hearing them speaking with tongues and extolling Elohim. Then Kĕpha answered, “Is anyone able to forbid water, that these should not be immersed who have received the Set-apart Spirit – even as also we?”

Acts 2:1-13 And when the Day of the Festival of Weeks had come, they were all with one mind in one place. And suddenly there came a sound from the heaven, as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. And there appeared to them divided tongues, as of fire, and settled on each one of them. And they were all filled with the Set-apart Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them to speak. Now in Yerushalayim there were dwelling Yehuḏim, dedicated men from every nation under the heaven. And when this sound came to be, the crowd came together, and were confused, because everyone heard them speak in his own language. And they were all amazed and marvelled, saying to each other, “Look, are not all these who speak Galileans? And how do we hear, each one in our own language in which we were born? Parthians and Medes and Ěylamites, and those dwelling in Aram Naharayim, both Yehuḏah and Kappadokia, Pontos and Asia, both Phrygia and Pamphulia, Mitsrayim and the parts of Libya around Cyrene, visitors from Rome, both Yehuḏim and converts, Cretans and Araḇs, we hear them speaking in our own tongues the great deeds of Elohim.” And they were all amazed, and were puzzled, saying to each other, “What does this mean?” And others mocking said, “They have been filled with sweet wine.”

Clearly, the Mikveh With the Set-apart Spirit is a separate act apart from water immersion or merely a confession of believing. It may be received through the laying on of hands by one who has already received the Mikveh with the Set-apart Spirit or it may be received spontaneously by the sovereign will of Elohim.

It is received through faith (believing)

Gal 3:2 This only I wish to learn from you: Did you receive the Spirit by works of Torah, or by the hearing of belief?

Gal 3:14 in order that the blessing of Aḇraham might come upon the nations in Messiah יהושע, to receive the promise of the Spirit through belief.

SPEAKING IN TONGUES

Purpose of Speaking in Tongues

1 Corinthians 14:2 For he who is speaking in a tongue does not speak to men but to Elohim, for no one understands, but in the Spirit he speaks secrets.

1 Corinthians 14:4 He who is speaking in a tongue builds up himself, but he who is prophesying builds up the assembly.

1 Corinthians 14:5 Now I wish you all spoke with tongues, but rather that you might prophesy, for he who is prophesying is greater than he who is speaking with tongues, unless he interprets, so that the assembly might receive upbuilding.

The personal heavenly language you may receive with the Mikveh of the Set-apart Spirit is meant for your private devotions. It is a language not understood by men, but by Elohim (1Co 14:2). It is not meant to be used in the congregation where it will not edify anyone else. This type of tongues may be given to those who are mikveh’d in the Set-apart Spirit. It goes beyond the intellect, and indeed is not meant for you to understand lest your mind get in the way of your spirit which is crying out to Elohim.

Messiah gives a beautiful picture if the inner work of the Mikveh of the Set-apart Spirit in our personal lives, calling it living water.

John 7:38-39 “As the Scripture said, out of His innermost shall flow rivers of living water.” And this He said concerning the Spirit, which those believing in Him were about to receive, for the Set-apart Spirit was not yet given, because יהושע was not yet esteemed.

Speaking in Tongues in the Assembly

Speaking in tongues, though clearly taught in Scripture, is one of the most misunderstood and abused gifts of the Set-apart Spirit. In many congregations, it is used indiscriminately at the command of the pastor as if it should demonstrate their spiritual superiority. Scripture states that "they spoke in other tongues as the Spirit gave utterance." Those congregations who stand up and babble are not doing so at the leading of the Spirit. This is a form of witchcraft and should not be practiced.

1 Corinthians 12:30 Do all have gifts of healing? Do all speak in tongues? Do all interpret? But earnestly seek the better gifts. And yet I show you a more excellent way.

This verse is not referring to the mikveh. The Mikveh in the Set-apart Spirit is a free gift from Elohim, given by grace - not based on merit - and is available to all who are saved, sanctified and eagerly desire it.

If the Set-apart Spirit gives you a message in a foreign tongue to be given at a congregational meeting, there will be someone there to interpret it. It may well be an unbeliever who will then see that Elohim is using someone who does not speak his language to bring him a personal message in his own tongue.
It is a language spoken daily in some other country and not some strange babbling.

1 Corinthians 14:22 So then tongues are for a sign, not to those who believe but to unbelievers, and prophesying is not for unbelievers but for those who believe.

1 Corinthians 14:9 So also you, if you do not give speech by the tongue that is clear, how shall it be known what is spoken? For you shall be speaking into the air.

If YHWH will use someone to bring a message to the assembly, there must be an interpretation. It may be a word of knowledge, prophesy, wisdom or instruction to build up or exhort the body. The purpose will be to edify the assembly, so unless there is understanding, it will be fruitless. Just sit down and be quiet!

Isaiah 28:11 For with a jabbering lip and a foreign tongue He speaks to this people,

1 Corinthians 14:5-6 Now I wish you all spoke with tongues, but rather that you might prophesy, for he who is prophesying is greater than he who is speaking with tongues, unless he interprets, so that the assembly might receive upbuilding. But now, brothers, if I come to you speaking with tongues, what shall I profit you unless I speak to you, either by revelation, or by knowledge, or by prophesying, or by teaching?

Everything must be done in an orderly fashion, as led by the Set-apart Spirit. Indiscriminate babbling will edify no one.

1 Corinthians 14:26-28 What then is it, brothers? Whenever you come together, each one has a psalm, has a teaching, has a tongue, has a revelation, has an interpretation. Let all be done for upbuilding. If anyone speaks in a tongue, let there be two or at the most three, each in turn, and let one interpret. And if there is no interpreter, let him be silent in an assembly, and let him speak to himself and to Elohim.

1 Corinthians 14:33 For Elohim is not Elohim of disorder but of peace, as in all the assemblies of the set-apart ones.

1 Corinthians 14:23 If then all the assembly comes together in one place, and all speak with tongues, and there come in those who are unlearned or unbelievers, shall they not say that you are mad?

1 Corinthians 14:39-40 So, then, brothers, earnestly seek to prophesy, and do not forbid speaking in tongues. Let all be done decently and in order.
