Restoring the Bride of Messiah

The Promised Outpouring

TREASURE IN EARTHEN VESSELS

2 Corinthians 4:7 And we have this treasure in earthen vessels, so that the excellence of the power might be of Elohim, and not of us.

The Set-apart Spirit Upon Old Testament Saints

Numbers 11:25 And יהוה came down in the cloud, and spoke to him, and took of the Spirit that was upon him, and placed the same upon the seventy elders. And it came to be, when the Spirit rested upon them, that they prophesied, but did not continue.

Judges 3:10 And the Spirit of יהוה came upon him, and he ruled Yisra’ĕl, and went out to battle, and יהוה gave into his hand Kushan-Rishʽathayim sovereign of Aram Naharayim. And his hand prevailed over Kushan-Rishʽathayim,

Numbers 24:2 And Bilʽam lifted up his eyes and saw Yisra’ĕl encamped according to their tribes. And the Spirit of Elohim came upon him.

Judges 6:34 Then the Spirit of יהוה came upon Giḏʽon, and he blew the ram’s horn, and the Aḇiʽezerites gathered behind him.

Judges 14:6 And the Spirit of יהוה came mightily upon him, and he tore it apart as the tearing apart of a young goat, with naught in his hand. But he did not make known to his father or his mother what he had done.

1 Samuel 10:10 And they came there to the hill and saw a group of prophets, to meet him. And the Spirit of Elohim came upon him, and he prophesied in their midst.

1 Samuel 16:13 And Shemu’ĕl took the horn of oil and anointed him in the midst of his brothers. And the Spirit of יהוה came upon Dawiḏ from that day and onwards. And Shemu’ĕl arose and went to Ramah.

2 Peter 1:21 for prophecy never came by the desire of man, but men of Elohim spoke, being moved by the Set-apart Spirit.

A few (very few) of the Old Testament saints had the Set-apart Spirit upon them for some special tasks that the Elohim gave them to do. The bulk of the Israelites lived their lives without the “special privilege” of having the Spirit upon them.

The Great Expectation and Anticipation

Numbers 11:27-29 And a young man ran and informed Mosheh, and said, “Eldaḏ and Mĕyḏaḏ are prophesying in the camp.” And Yehoshua son of Nun, Mosheh’s assistant from his youth, answered and said, “Mosheh my master, forbid them!” Then Mosheh said to him, “Are you jealous for my sake? Oh, that all the people of יהוה were prophets, that יהוה would put His Spirit upon them!”

John 14:12 “Truly, truly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he shall do also. And greater works than these he shall do, because I go to My Father.

1 Peter 1:8-12 whom having not seen, you love; in whom you exult with unspeakable and esteemed joy, yet not seeing, but believing, obtaining the goal of your belief: a deliverance of lives. Concerning this deliverance the prophets have sought out and searched out, prophesying concerning the favour for you, searching to know what, or what sort of time, the Spirit which was in them was pointing out concerning Messiah, when it was bearing witness beforehand the sufferings of Messiah, and the esteems that would follow, whom it was revealed that they were serving, not themselves, but you, in these matters which now have been announced to you through those who brought the Good News to you by the Set-apart Spirit sent from heaven – into which messengers long to look into.
There were great expectations and a “diligent searching” by the Old Testament prophets. They looked forward to the glorious Gospel days in which we live. Even “the angels desired to look into” these things. We have great privileges and opportunities in the Gospel.

Hebrews 8:6 But now He has obtained a more excellent service, inasmuch as He is also Mediator of a better covenant, which was constituted on better promises.

Hebrews 11:39-40 And having obtained witness through the belief, Elohim having provided what is better for us, that they should not be made perfect apart from us.

With all the supernatural manifestations of the Set-apart Spirit through the few chosen men and women, none was mikvehe'd (baptized) with and in the Set-apartSpirit.

John 7:37-39 And on the last day, the great day of the festival, יהושע stood and cried out, saying, “If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me, and let him who believes in Me drink. As the Scripture said, out of His innermost shall flow rivers of living water.” And this He said concerning the Spirit, which those believing in Him were about to receive, for the Set-apart Spirit was not yet given, because יהושע was not yet esteemed.

Acts 2:32-33 “Elohim has raised up this יהושע, of which we are all witnesses. Therefore, having been exalted to the right hand of Elohim, and having received from the Father the promise of the Set-apart Spirit, He poured out this which you now see and hear.”

OLD TESTAMENT PROPHESY FOR NEW TESTAMENT DAYS

The Promised Messiah Came According to Prophesy

Isaiah 7:14 “Therefore יהוה Himself gives you a sign: Look, the maiden conceives and gives birth to a Son, and shall call His Name Immanu’ĕl.

Micah 5:2 “But you, Bĕyth Leḥem Ephrathah, you who are little among the clans of Yehuḏah, out of you shall come forth to Me the One to become Ruler in Yisra’ĕl. And His comings forth are of old, from everlasting.”

Genesis 3:15 “And I put enmity between you and the woman, and between your seed and her Seed. He shall crush your head, and you shall crush His heel.”

Deuteronomy 18:15 “יהוה your Elohim shall raise up for you a Prophet like me from your midst, from your brothers. Listen to Him.”

Psalm 2:2 The sovereigns of the earth take their stand, and the rulers take counsel together, against יהוה and against His Messiah.

Psalm 22:6-8 But I am a worm, and no man; A reproach of men, and despised by the people. All those who see Me mock Me; They shoot out the lip, they shake the head, saying, “He trusted in יהוה, let Him rescue Him; Let Him deliver Him, seeing He has delighted in Him!”

Psalm 22:16-18 For dogs have surrounded Me; A crowd of evil ones have encircled Me, Piercing My hands and My feet; I count all My bones. They look, they stare at Me. They divide My garments among them, And for My raiment they cast lots.

Psalm 68:18 You have ascended on high, You have led captivity captive, You have received gifts among men, And even the rebellious, That Yah Elohim might dwell there.

Psalm 69:21 And they gave me gall for my food, and for my thirst they gave me vinegar to drink.

Messiah’s Incarnation, birth, life, dominion, rejection, suffering, meekness, death and resurrection were all foretold and the Messianic Prophesies were fulfilled in every detail. So also all prophesies concerning the Outpouring of the Set-apart Spirit must be fulfilled.

The Promised Outpouring of the Set-apart Spirit

Isaiah 44:3 ‘For I pour water on the thirsty, and floods on the dry ground. I pour My Spirit on your seed, and My blessing on your offspring,

Joel 2:28-29 “And after this it shall be that I pour out My Spirit on all flesh. And your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men dream dreams, your young men see visions.

Ezekiel 36:25-27 “And I shall sprinkle clean water on you, and you shall be clean – from all your filthiness and from all your idols I cleanse you. And I shall give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you. And I shall take the heart of stone out of your flesh, and I shall give you a heart of flesh, and put My Spirit within you. And I shall cause you to walk in My laws and guard My right-rulings and shall do them.”

The mighty outpouring of the Set-apart Spirit is promised to “all flesh” and those who meet Elohim’s conditions can receive Elohim’s abundance.
